This will be an intensive, fun-filled, two day workshop where we will explore the principles of Jane Dunnewold’s 'Complex Cloth'. It is all about the considered use of colour, design elements and scale to develop a layering of imagery. By working with contrast and relationship, we aim to create an integrated and pleasing surface. Processes covered in the workshop will include Shibori techniques and dyeing, over-dyeing, various stamping, stencilling, screen printing applications and discharge. You will work on sample pieces (about 6-8) approx 45x45cm with the aim to complete a number of processes on each sample.

Learn how to dye and discharge fabric and how to use the technique to silk degum organza for special effect. The first day will be sampling and experimenting with the technique. The second day will be making a larger more finished piece.
