30X30 EXHIBITION DETAILS

This year WAFTA celebrates its 30th birthday.

The Committee aims to empower and promote our members as part of an innovative and creative community of makers and also as individual practitioners. As we move forward into 2025 we want to focus on grassroot ways to connect with our members and to celebrate the joy of making.

As one of our 30th year celebration events WAFTA is hosting an online members’ exhibition in which your artwork will be presented in an online catalogue.

All members are invited to contribute one artwork. There is no theme.

The only requirement is that the work must measure 30cm x 30cm, or 30cm diameter for a circular work, or 30 x 30 x 30cm for 3D works.

Artworks can be for sale.

The entry fee and sales fee have been intentionally kept low at $15 each to encourage as many members as possible to participate.  With over 220 members, this will be an exciting showcase of WAFTA members’ creativity!

What to do:

  • Create a fibre and textile work that measures 30 cm x 30 cm or 30 cm diameter or 30 x 30 x 30 cm for 3D works.

  • Provide a photograph of the work in JPG format between 1-6 MB file size, at minimum 72 dpi.

  • The image is to be cropped to the edge of the artwork to create a square image.  If it is a circular work, crop to the edge of the work so that the final format is a square. If it is a 3D artwork, provide a square image of either an overhead view or a side view.

  • Title your image file with your first initial and your last name.

  • Provide the information as requested on the online Entry Form which will be accessible on April 30. Note that no artist statement is required.

  • Complete and submit the online Entry Form, upload photo and pay the $15 participation fee by July 31, 2025.

Please see the Entry Requirements for more details.
