We are seeking the services of a member of WAFTA to become the next WAFTA CHAIRPERSON!

Chairing is one of the key roles on the WAFTA Management Committee.  The Chair ensures that there is full participation during committee meetings, that all relevant matters are discussed and effective decisions are made and carried out.

The responsibilities of the chair are to plan meetings, develop the agenda in conjunction with the secretary and senior members of the committee and run the meetings.  The Chair provides leadership and ensures decisions made at meetings are implemented.

A good Chair will be sensitive to the feelings of the members, be impartial and objective, start and finish on time, be approachable, tactful and have an understanding of working with volunteers.

It is essential to have a knowledge of WAFTA's Articles of Association and how WAFTA fits into the textile arts world in Australia, as well as having a passion for fibre and textiles in all its forms and a desire to encourage WAFTA members to reach their creative potential!

This situation will become vacant from the October 2018 AGM, and is available initially for 1 year, up to a maximum of 4 years. You will be mentored during your first year as required, and you will have the assistance of a strong and passionate team.

If this sounds like you, drop us a line via email and we will be in touch.

Rosie could... can you?
