WAFTA member Carmen Tyrer is opening her home and studio to WAFTA members and their guests!

Carmen Tyrer is an artist and WAFTA member who lives in Waroona in the Peel region of Western Australia (approx. 1 hour 10 minutes south of Perth).

She is a multi-award winning artist working across sculpture, painting, felting, cold porcelain and now Eucalyptus Clay (EUCLAY Australia), a product which she invented. Amongst her many accolades are first prize at the Perth Royal Show for a felt wall hanging, and best overall art work at Ellenbrook Gallery with a felted shawl which she will show us.

Carmen’s home and studio are brimming with her stunning artworks and are a testament to her life immersed in art. This year alone she has works in ten exhibitions, including WAFTA’s ReGEN exhibition, the City of Belmont art Awards, Rockingham’s Castaways sculpture show, Bunbury wearable art, and Eco Fashion Week Australia.

Program:

Arrive at 10.30am for a tour of her studio which will be followed by morning tea and an artist talk.

Please bring a plate of food suitable for a shared lunch.

Then, in the afternoon, Carmen will demonstrate Euclay, cold porcelain, and ultrafine merino felting.

She will have items for sale from her extensive stash and will also have some freebies or souvenirs on offer.

This event is hosted by WAFTA but is open to everyone. Feel free to share this event with your art-loving friends, fill your car, and make a day of it!
