WAFTA's South West members hit the road!

31st March 2025
The Busselton Group headed to Narrogin to see the botanical dye work being undertaken by fellow WAFTA members in their unique Eucalypt project.

On the weekend of March 29th and 30th, three ladies from the WAFTA Busselton group travelled to Narrogin and were hosted by the amazing textile artists that live there. Botanical printing legend, Di Strahan, very generously shared her vast experience and techniques she has developed over many years. She also shared some of the work the group has been instrumental in, exploring dyes from local eucalypts. So incredibly impressive and inspiring. We had the opportunity to visit an exhibition on local eucalypts that featured textile prints as well as paintings and clay sculptures.

The Narrogin textile art group women went through so much trouble preparing dye kits for us, baking and providing lunch. We could not be more grateful. We had a fabulous weekend, made new friends and are looking forward to hosting the Narrogin ladies in Busselton someday soon.
